Your Actions Speak Volumes … Walk in Love!

Every day there is an opportunity to walk in love. Circumstances and situations arise that create pressure to respond in anger, bitterness, revenge, or retaliation. You may not be able to control all that happens to you, but you can control your response to what happens.
It says in the Bible that love is of God (1 John 4:7). Real love was demonstrated by Jesus as He gave Himself on the cross to pay for our sins. He sacrificed Himself to benefit us. Love is unselfish. Love is giving. Love is long-suffering, kind, humble, patient, gentle, and not easily provoked (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
If you decide to walk in love in your everyday life, remember that love is a decision rather than a feeling. Love chooses to do what is the best and the highest, regardless of the response from others. In other words, love is not dependent on the goodness or loveability of the person being loved. Love is dependent upon God’s love in your heart.
Without love everything degenerates – anger, strife, bitterness, and unforgiveness multiply in the atmosphere where there is no love. A work environment without love is intolerable. Torment and oppression fill the minds of those working in the midst of strife.
If employers want maximum productivity, efficiency, and quality, the love walk is a necessity. It begins with the leadership and is transmitted through the organization by those who actually walk in love. Ruthless tactics of intimidation and brutal practices of administration do not advance a company, they destroy it. Even when taking necessary steps of releasing employees or making changes, the process can be done with love.
One top executive of a major corporation said to me, “Most companies have equal access to technology, information, and materials. The advantage we have in the industry is how we treat our employees with love and respect. In turn, their performance keeps us ahead of other companies who have no focus on the important issues of how you treat people.”
